About us
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI)
conducts research and development in information and communications technology and other digital transformation technologies.
Customer Needs
Build an energy big data platform to collect large volumes of power data and develop deep learning algorithms
Customer Challenges
01
Data integration challenges
Time-series data from diverse power and energy equipment: integration is difficult
02
Slower progress
towards commercialization
The platform was built with open-source technologies such as Hadoop.
Limited compatibility between packages and low technical maturity slowed progress towards commercialization.
Solution
A data collector supports a range of sources,
including Modbus TCP, REST APIs, and CSV files.
Collect and store real-time power data using the Machbase time-series database
Grafana integration and a Python driver
enable analysis and monitoring of the collected data.
Results
01
Shorter project timelines
Reduced from 4 months to 2 weeks
02
Reduced server resource usage
Operate with 1 server instead of 3
03
Improved developer experience
Simple platform architecture and SQL support
