About us
Mando Brose specializes in automotive motors. It was established in 2011 as a joint venture
between Korea's Mando Corporation and Brose, a global automotive parts company based in Germany.
Customer Needs
The customer needed to collect data from multiple PLCs on each production line in real time
and monitor each line's status, while also integrating alarms and process progress data
with the existing MES.
Customer Challenges

Real-time monitoring

Data is collected from 1,500 sensors using both MS-SQL and Oracle.
However, differing data structures across the two systems
prevent real-time monitoring.

No tracking of
parts history
With no system for tracking parts history in the factory,
staff manually scanned RFID tags to manage parts.
Solution
Machbase's time-series DBMS is embedded in the edge device on each
of seven production lines. Data collected by each edge device
is automatically transmitted to the central server and stored in real time.
Whenever MES alarm or progress data changes,
the edge device calls a procedure to transmit and store
the updated data in the MES's RDBMS.
